RAINBO RETRIEVERS WAS STARTED IN 1980 WITH MY FRIEND LU-ANNE HARTLE. SHE WAS GOING TO HAVE A LITTER OF CHOCOLATE PUPS. THE MALE PASHA, WAS OWNED BY ROZ BOSCIA (OWNER OF CH SAIIN'SJUMPING JACK FLASH). I FELL IN LOVE WITH LABS BECAUSE OF CH STAR'S SAILORMAN OF SEASAC CDX WC. OWNED AND LOVED BY BETH AND ART DAVIS OF SAILIN LABRADORS. WHEN I SAW CHOCOLATE PUPS THEY LOOKED LIKE LITTLE BEARS AND I HAD TO HAVE ONE! I HAVE LOVED CHOCOLATES EVER SINCE. HOWEVER MY GOAL IS SOUND WORKING LABRADORS OF ALL 3 COLORS.THEY SHOULD MEET THE STANDARD OF THE BREED,AND PERFORM THE JOB THEY WERE  BRED TO DO.

First Generation

CINNAMON'S BOO BOO BEAR CD CDX 1980-1994 at 14 1/2 Boo was a wonderful dog to train and avid hunter until she was 12.  She got a reserve winners bitch when there were very few chocolates and with a novice handler. You couldn't ask for an easier dog to train. If you asked her to go to the moon she would have tried.  Judy Pond of Duckpond kennels got me hooked on the hunt test game when it was in it's early stages.  Boo learned to handle and do multiple marks with no force.  She was a wonderful mother and great producer. She passed her trainability on to all of her pups. All the old time breeders and trainers say you only have 1 or 2 great dogs in your life time, and Boo was 1. Bred to Sailin's Yellow Yogi Bair CD CDX and produced Ebony Lady Eleanor Bear CD CDX TD. You can see her on Rainbo Retrievers II. She was then bred to a field dog and they were sold to hunting families.  Her last litte was by CH Sailin's Court Jester WC Below is SR Rainbo's Lady Arwen of Rivendell CD DWA.

Second Generation

SR RAINBO'S LADY ARWEN OF RIVENDELL CD DWG

Arwen alias the dog from hell, was a gremlin in a dog suit.  I don't mean the cute cuddly kind either.  She was the smartest dog I have ever known.  They say dogs don't solve problems!  They never met Arwen.  She figured out how to get past kiddie locks on cupboards.  It took her 15 minutes to figure out how to unlock the front window of our new house.  She had a huge vocabulary.  She climbed chain link fences like a cat. She would hunt all day and had a nose that wouldn't quit.  If there were no birds flying she would go into the brush and bring out live birds for herself. (hunter? I don't need no stinking hunter!) In the obedience ring she was a clown! None of her scores were below 195 she was in a run off for high in trial and mom blew it.  She earned a dog world award and is pictured in Dog World magazine  Dec 1992 issue. She earned her NAHRA started and had a leg of her junior hunter title.  Sadly I lost Arwen during a Csection..  I warn people think very hard about breeding your dog, you could loose your best friend. Arwen was bred 3 times. First to CH Sailin's Gideon Tanner.  Produced  SR Rainbo's Son of Sailin JH CD and Rainbo's Sunrise Edtion. They can be seen on the rainbow bridge page. Arwens second litter was by of CH Appollo's Gallactic Hunter(click here to see Hunter he is  the 7th dog on this web page). This produced SR Rainbo's Rambling Rose JH pointed.  Rainbo's Lady Johanna and Rainbo's Gus(an awesome hunting compnaion)All of which now reside at the Rainbow bridge!  Her last litter was by CH Micon's Rusty Nail.  This produced Rainbo's Terrapin Station pointed and Rainbo's Paradox(can be seen on Sailin labs web site). SR RAINBO'S RAMBLING ROSE JH pointed 1989-2004 Lost Rose 1-4-04 she was 14 1/2 years old. She is sadly missed. CH Appollo's Gallactic Hunter x SR Rainbo's Lady Arwen Of Rivendell CD DW Rosies hips are good and she got  her heart clearance from OFA at 13 1/2yrs

Third Generation

Rosie is the most balanced dog I have ever bred..  She was retrieving pigeons at 9 weeks.  Going in the water like a fish.  She placed at specialties under well known breeder judges.  She was pointed at all breed shows.  She produced wonderful puppies and was the best mother.  She is wasl sound and healthy at 14..  Sadly she only had 3 litters.  Her first litter to Ch Withara's Marine Journey CD JH was a litter of 2 pups.  I repeated the breeding and got some wonderful pups, one of which is WR SR Rainbo's Indian Outlaw.  His litter sister Rainbo's Sugar Magnolia CGC and WR SR Rainbo's Magic Merlin JH SH. Her last breeding was her idea.  She had not been in season for several years she came in and tunneled into the kennel next door.  She had 8 pups by Rainbo's Paradox.  Several of these pups went to hunting homes.  One of the females gets  100+ ducks a season not counting the upland birds. Terra was as nice as Rosie only chocolate.  She produce my first home bred champion Dream. She just needed majors to finish and had to be retired before she , could finish. She also produced  Haze, Page, and Rain who are passing on their retrieving desire to a fourth generation. She was a clown in a dog suit. Moose was a wonderful dog who was a retrieving machine.  He passed his Sarted and Junior hunter titles  4 for 4. He passed the NAHRA regional as well. He also passed his CD with three tries.  He was the sweetest boy. Remi won Best in match after just turning 1 year.  He was a hand full of dog.  He went to live with Beth and Art Davis at Sailin Labradors.

Maggie(Rainbo's Sugar Magnolia) and Indi ( WR SR Rainbo's Indian OutlawCGC JH CD SH CDX) were the next generation out of Rosie.   Indi was a once in a life time dog.  He got along with everyone.  His best friend was a cat.  He loved puppies and would try and get in the whelping box with them.  He was the best puppy sitter.  He had his favorite people and you could always tell when one of them came into view.  He would just light up.  He tolerated other people.  He earned may titles and was injured at eight and had to retire with out finishing his titles.  He was a true couch potato. However get out a shotgun and he would come alive!  He would get angry however when he saw mom leaving in camo and coming home smelling like birds.  I miss him every day.   Maggie went to live with Beth and Art Davis of Sailin Labs. Haze was out of Terra bred to Jack.  She went reserve winners at her first show at six months.  She went Reserve winners bitch at GGLRC.  She produced some wonderful puppies  by Louis.  Who are my up and coming fifth generation. She had to be retired due to complications of a csection.  Again think long and hard before you breed you girl.  Page and Rain were out of Terra bred to Tommy.  Page is pointed and working on his junior hunter title.  Rain lives with Beth and Art Davis of  Sailin Labradors.  She was bred to Sailin's Koko Peli Dancer and produced Boss another up and coming fifth generation.  He is running hunt tests and field trials.
